Complete renovation of IDE and Donner Resident Halls.  Originally constructed in 1937 & 1950. Project included all Demo, drywall, acoustical ceiling, new restrooms and new dorm rooms.  All New Mechanical, plumbing and electrical up grades.

The Underground at Hanover College was an underutilized student union center. The renovation emphasizes student needs. The space maintains its dining and mail-service capabilities, and clearly defined areas that promote eating, independent and group study, and relaxation help enhance student use.
The challenge for designers was to integrate mail, dining, study and relaxation areas into one unified, cohesive environment. Contouring varied ceiling elevations with flooring materials, high-backed booths and curtainwalls provide space definition without creating seclusion. The various spaces are united through a complementary color palette of red, gold and orange.
An open-windowed curvilinear wall offers separation without creating a stark division. The wall reflects the curvature of the “living room,” a carpeted area containing an upholstered loveseat and lounge chairs, a round coffee table, a recessed fireplace surrounded by built-in bookshelves, and a movable curtainwall.
The Underground has become an integral part of the Hanover College experience.

Nikkei MC Aluminum America, Inc. is located in Columbus, Indiana. NMAA is a secondary aluminum company that specializes in creating many different aluminum alloys.

General construction included Concrete, Masonry & Pre-Engineered Building.

This is a three story building distinguished by the repetitive use of brick arches (on the interior as well as the exterior) over the windows. It is very reminiscent of the old Mooney Tannery which used to sit in the Mill Race Park area. The building is a compact rectangle of brick and masonry bearing wall construction. Harry Weese described the building as “a firm statement of the dignity and prominence in the community that a school should possess”. This was a three story building in contrast to the sprawling mostly one level schools built during this time period. Unlike many architects, Harry Weese buildings never had a definitive signature look which might become identified as “Weese”. Each of his buildings were an attempt to solve the unique design problem at hand. Weese playfully suggested that he chose a three story design because students loved climbing up and down stairs, teachers however might have different feelings. Much of the design work here was done by Ben Weese, Harry’s younger brother who was part of his firm for many years. There were classrooms on three floors surrounding three sides of an interior courtyard. The gymnasium/multipurpose room and a swimming pool were along the fourth side. The library was on the third floor overlooking the interior courtyard.

The purchase and complete renovation of the nearby warehouse provides the owners with long-needed space to exponentially expand their craft brewing operation and make customer-centered improvements at the pizzeria, Lisa Zwanzig said.

The new warehouse once was the Sapps Bakery building — and later a furniture warehouse. It is being transformed into a modern and stylish craft brewery encompassing 11,000-square fee.

It will allow ZwanzigZ to brew up to 15 times more beer than the current configuration on Lafayette Avenue — 800 barrels a year — while still maintaining the ability to produce small, unique batches of beer, Kurt Zwanzig said.

The renovated warehouse will now be ZwanzigZ headquarters, a production brewing facility and a location for a tasting room and special-event space.

The new warehouse features a 1,000-square-foot walk-in cooler, which is surrounded by windows, an unusual feature, plus hundreds of beer kegs, an automated keg cleaning machine and significantly more brewing equipment.

It’s significant to note that the walk-in cooler for the brewery is substantially larger than the very first ZwanzigZ restaurant, which started out in about 200 square feet in 2002 as a one-room pizzeria on the edge of Columbus.

“It’s kind of fun to measure your growth in the size of a walk-in cooler,” Kurt Zwanzig said.

The Columbus Fire Department Station 2, located in Columbus, IN, provides fire protection and emergency response services to the Columbus community. Repp and Mundt was the General Contractor.  We self performed the concrete, Masonry, and all Carpentry with compliment of Sub Contractors.
